.IT Domain Name Registrations

Established in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-specific top-level extension is very popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for forming inventive and interesting domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to create an easy-to-learn domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to return to your website or to share it with associates and acquaintances. The extension can also be used for a website, which is linked to the information sector having in mind the fact that IT is an abbreviation, which is in use around the world.

Given that dot IT domains are not offered directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that supervises this top-level domain name extension, such a domain can be acquired through a 3rd-party registration provider, such as ours. You can secure a dot IT domain for a one-year period at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our company and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. As there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of different areas and localities in Italy reserved for local third-level registrations, new names that include geographical regions of any sort are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion.
